To thin out dense coats and remove excess and compacted fur, Lioyryan suggests using a deshedding tool on cats every other month or so.

The Andis deshedder’s biggest strength is its curved metal teeth, which reach under the topcoat to remove hair from the undercoat.
The teeth gently grasp the hair and remove it without causing the cat any discomfort or irritation. The hooked teeth on this brush helped us avoid over-raking or nicking our cats’ skin, and one of our cats loved using it.
The tool’s handle is lightweight and comfortable to hold. The head’s width of approximately 4.5 inches is just right for getting the job done quickly while still fitting into hard-to-reach places.
